Mill Valley Health Club and Spa is a family owned business. Our company, Body Kinetics, opened its first Fitness and Pilates Center in 1990 in the San Francisco Marina area. What makes us unique is our personalized programs and comfortable atmosphere.

Our focus is to provide exceptional services such as specialized fitness training programs, cutting edge small group classes, fitness camps, Yoga, spa services, and Pilates Method training that separate us from others in the fitness industry.

We offer a well-appointed facility and pride ourselves on providing a friendly caring environment. Our educated, professional staff is able to address the many concerns of a diverse population. Our company promotes social involvement with the purpose of supporting community, environmental and health causes.

Michael Hoeber Jenkins, MS

Michael has been working in the fitness industry for over 25 years. He earned a Bachelor Degree and Coaching Certification in Physical Education from the University of Oregon and a Master of Science Degree in Sports Psychology from California State University of Hayward.

He has been a college level Cross Country and Track coach and worked as a personal trainer for 10 years. Michael is responsible for graphic design and marketing club programs.  He also is a coordinator and teacher of our Apprentice Personal Training Program.  Michael is in the club September - May from 9am - 3pm most work days.

He is married to Alexandra Jenkins and has a beautiful son, Nathanial, who is 4 years old.

John Hoeber, MS, RD, CSSD, CPT

John is an Elite Fitness Trainer, Wellness Coach, Registered Dietitian specializing in weight loss, post rehabilitation conditioning, and fitness programs for beginners and athletes. In addition to the NASM CPT (certified personal trainer) certification he holds the NASM CES (corrective exercise specialist) and PES (performance exercise specialist), as well as the American Dietetic Association CSSD (certified specialist in sports dietetics) and certificate of advanced training in Adult Weight Management. He obtained his B.S. in Clinical Dietetics in 1988, and his M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from Boston University in 1989. He has been a Registered Dietitian since 1988 and was certified as a fitness trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in 1993. In 2002 he became a Fitness Certification Instructor for the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). For seventeen years he has provided fitness training for individuals of all abilities from rehabilitation to recreational athletes, ranging in age from 8 to 98 years of age. He creates fitness and nutrition programs that offer practical solutions to individual challenges.
